Barcelona

Gaudí, beaches, and tapas — a city that buzzes with creative energy.

Architecture in the City

Barcelona is home to some truly incredible architecture that can be found throughout the city. Two must-visit locations highlight the extraordinary work of Antoni Gaudí, a highly acclaimed architect celebrated for his unique and imaginative designs.

Basílica de la Sagrada Família

La Sagrada Familia is truly one of the most stunning structures I have ever seen. It beautifully merges three different architectural styles: Gothic Revival, Art Nouveau, and Modernism. The exterior features an incredible level of detail, while the interior presents a captivating sight. The stained glass windows allow light to pour in, creating an extraordinary ambiance.

The Beach

Barceloneta Beach is an excellent spot to soak up the sun or work on your tan. The water is fantastic, and the beach is consistently filled with people enjoying the atmosphere. You’ll find local cafés and shops lining the shore, along with nearby hotels. It’s a wonderful place to unwind and relax.

Justin’s tip: Visit Barceloneta in the late afternoon — the light is golden and the crowds thin out. Grab a cold drink from one of the chiringuitos (beach bars) and watch the sunset.

Other Cool Places to Go

La Rambla & Plaça de Catalunya

La Rambla is the vibrant core of Barcelona, bustling with activity at all hours. This lively street features a variety of local markets and shops to explore. While it’s generally safe, it’s wise to be vigilant about pickpockets. Close by is Plaça de Catalunya, a lively square filled with street performers and local vendors. Just watch out for the many pigeons around — you wouldn’t want to get pooped on!

Camp Nou

This stadium is the home ground of FC Barcelona, one of the top football teams globally. With a capacity of approximately 100,000 spectators, it often sells out for nearly every match. If you happen to be there when the team is playing, be sure to attend a game. If not, consider taking a tour of the stadium — it’s definitely worth your time!
